seriously, anyone wanting to go fast in a straight line is mentally retarded if they think the ae86 is any good.

Stop kidding yourself and buy an XR6T.

nah why bother, you'll just get ripped by someone who's done a small port conversion into their ae86

Stop kidding yourself and buy a supra.

Any car can go fast in a straight line. There is no reason for an AE86 to be a bad drag car, might get a bit wild, due to having a short wheel base, but balls will compensate for that.

As for the xr6,their suspension sucks ass for drag racing, or any sort of racing for that matter, yeah they make power easily, but 4L and a big turbo will do that, doesn't mean their any good.

I've got a good reason that an ae86 is a bad drag car. They're too heavy.

Why do you think guys use rx3's, r100's, early ke's etc? Because they're a good 200kg lighter than an ae86 to start with. Another reason an ae86 is a shit drag car is because the engine bay is far to small to fit a decently large enough motor in. I mean yeah a 13b will fit, but good luck trying to fit that hks t51 in or gt35/40 or gt42rs or any decent sized turbo.

lol, they are pretty sad reasons, an 86 is not heavy, and as for weight, power will always offset it.

I know for a fact that you can fit a 1j into a ke70 with out having to bash fire wall or anything similar, so it would fit in an 86, shit they do as it has been done.

As for the turbo, if you run out of room in the bay, no where in the andra rules does it say you can't mount it out the bonnet, shit they already do that to.

But hey, you know everything about drag racing. You can quote the most popular turbo's available, can you teach me more?

why bother argue over this ?? people dont buy ae86 for drag purposes they buy them to have fun with slide, track etc.. i only ever drag mine to see what i can pull with newer mods and more boost. Theres been some crazy engine conversion done to an ae86 but why bother bashing the firewall or extending the radiator support to allow clearance..and i no for a fact a gt35/40 will fit in my bay shit i rekon i could put a t88 in mine
