Default AE86 In a Straight Line

Sure Hachi's aren't renowned for their straight line speed rather their nimble handling and mad skids but I'm going to ask anyway. What sort of cars will an 86 outrun off the line, and for how long.

Having never been in a 4AGE 86 I'm really not sure how quick they are, how can you compare the 86 over various short distances, say first 50m, 100m, 200m.

I think they'd put up a pretty good fight against a ford laser, possibly even a barina

its not so much how many people you would beat with a stock 4age setup as how many people would be embarised when their s13 2l turbo really isn't THAT much faster...

Thats how mine was anyway, I wasn't faster than a lot of mates cars but man were they embarrised when a 1.6 NA was pretty much keeping up with them.

In my slightly worked smallport ive gotten a n14 sss and a blacktop ae82, and kept up to or just beaten a few cars from lights to lights. But 86 arent straight line cars, it also comes down to drivers cause theres lots of duds out there. Get a good driver behind the wheel a slightly worked 4ag and when your bumpers on there door they sure do feel like a dick but ive had alot better experiences in my 86 then running people. Hope that kinda answers your question

    EXCUSE ME!
Maybe a 1.8 turbo laser might give a 4age sprinter ago
    but what barina? POS!
I have 2 4age powered Toyotas in my family and they
both beat S13 & R32 turbos and some R33 skylines a good go too!
My brother beat a type R Honda the other nite in his ae82 corolla &
his new engine isn't even run in yet! It's only stock with a fully recon'd
internals with slightly ported head & a sports air filter & shitty fukt exhaust too! LOL!

You know you drive a 86 when you hate traffic lights and love round abouts...

    That about sums it up

I have a worked 4AG with light weight flywheel, stripped, closer ratio etc and its only slightly faster off the line than say a SR20 SSS.
