    Default Smashed Toyota 86 / GT86 / FT86 wreck alert !!!!! *PICS INSIDE*

    Toyota 86 / GT 86 / FT86 wreck alert !!!!!

A few weeks back saw a Black Toyota FT86 on a truck near Goulburn NSW, Melbourne bound. It had taken a big hit up the bum . Would say they would write it off but like most pranged cars it would have been repairable , only a matter of time and money .

So I would expect this to turn up at auction soon if the owner doesn't buy it back. Of course it will be a non repair write off ---- so a parts car or fix as a track car ??????????

Anyone out there know what happened to it before and after I saw it ????

Interesting predicament the owner would be in, a long wait for another one - Toyota is quoting up to 18 months on these 86 now or do they go out and buy a replacement car.

I bet a smashed GT86 / FT86 would be still worth be worth a mint as allot of workshops would kill to have a spare engine.

Diff/gearbox/engine would all fetch big $$$$

It would definitely worth abit in parts...

Saw pics floating around of one that had taken a truck in the drivers side door also

Is this the car you saw bob???

    And also found this

I have also heard of another that has had a minor front ender being held together with racing tape as there is a 14 week wait on the parts required to fix it.

No Matt , It was definite , a black car and the major hit was on the left side not the right , but a similar amount of deformation.
Shit that make 3 down already.

Doubt the Perth one will be written off, looks fairly cosmetic to me ( maybe some minor damage front links).

Blue one has both front and rear damage, rear ended by an r34 apparently at 90kph (most likely 50kph). Direct hit into chassis rail means can't open door

Hey just thought I would clear things up about the Blue one since I was in the accident.. It was not hit at 90kph it was hit at around 60-65kph. The damage looks worse on photos but both cars were written off due to the chassis being bent. All doors were able to be opened and closed but the boot was crumpled and not able to be shut.

Here is a better photo of the accidentClick image for larger version.

From a driver with 30 years experience within the first month of owning the 86.

I'm sure there will be a few getting around in Aus that low that haven't been stacked.
