    Default Richie's 74 Chevy Cheyenne

Hey hey, seeing as the build thread on my ae71 wont be getting updated for at least another year, I thought I'd put this one up..

I'm Richie and the reason this came about is that I was just sick and tired of the job i was doing and instead of doing the responsible thing and buying a house, i thought I'd head to America for a bit and have some fun. After being stuck in LA for 2 weeks with no wheels i found this on eBay, checked it out, haggled him down, (which was rather difficult as he didn't speak English, and his interpreter was just as bad) And 4 days later it was registered and insured in my name. $160 to register a V8 for a year!!! Whaaaat?? Only in America!!

So the jist of it is that its a 1974 Chevy Cheyenne short bed pickup (as they call it here). The power house is a 350 sbc with a 4 barrel carb, it absolutely chews thru the fuel, with a turbo 400 auto column shift (really needs a turbo 700 for the overdrive) has bench seats that can easily fit 4 people. 15x8, 15x10 center lines with 265/50, 295/50 respectively, this ain't a drift car!! stock headers but a 3 inch system from the fire wall, 2 mufflers but they don't do shit to muffle this beast, ending just before the rear wheels. That's just about it pretty much stock apart from being lowered 2 inch front 3 inch back it still has gnarly rake.. Rust and panel damage came with it but its not too bad. Yes it need a new grille as that's not meant for this truck but it's not really high on the list right now..

So the plan is to drive it around America for 3 months then head up to whistler as i got a job offer to start there in November for 6 months, then back to America for a a few months, then put it on a boat and ship it back to Australia. Don't have many pics of it yet cause I've been busy getting rego and insurance but yeah enough rambling, only one pic for now!!

This is my ae71 back in Australia too -

Only thing I'm gonna say is buy a gun and a gunrack for your rear window, so you look like a real American haha
