The 2 shafts side by side. 20 on the right, 22 on the left. Biggest change is the 2nd gear land and the nut retainer at the 5th gear end on the 20. The 22 has a cerclip arrangement. Albins do have the set in stock and have both 2nd gears as well. That said, should i want a new box/set I need to send send the lay shaft for modification and $4300... I wonder what the alternative 2nd gear is worth?

    Update on the gear situation.

Going with the 20 spline box because it is $700 for the 1/2 of the 2nd gear set that i need. Using a S1 T18 front section of the tail shaft will marry up to the AE86 tail section. The uni is slightly smaller but I think it will be ok.

Waiting on the MRP 4.89 diff gears to land before fitting the new drive line. It will be in for Noosa Hill Climb but for now I'm just going to run my old std box and 4.3 diff.

    The fuel system.

There was superfine red crap, talcum powder like in texture in the sump and carbs. I pulled the fuel tank out today and! HOLY COW. Silt to the max. There was about 12l of fuel in there which I used to flush it a couple of times. I've since removed it and given it a good pressure clean and replaced some old hoses.

All nice and clean ready for some fresh BP 100 race fuel.

Got my little project started yesterday. 1 oil leak out of the oil temp sensor and 1 water. Both relatively easy fixes. The fuel pressure reg was totaly another story. I had to source a new 1 and set it up to 3.5 psi.

Once started I needed to get the speed screws on the webbers set properly and run for a while getting the temp up and set the timing then I left it to cool out for 6 hrs and did a cold start test. Webbers ser up properly are awesome.

It was nice to get the car back on the track today. Running a motor in can always be a bit of a edgy time. Today it didn't help that the water temp gauge wanted to play solly buggers. All in all it ran perfectly and I will continue with the run program tomorrow, hopefully it will round me old sparing partner up tomorrow. Silly 7A hiding in that 1.
