    just picked all the bits up from the machine shop, it was in a pretty sorry state. This is the list of bits going back into the rebuild/freshen up and machine work done;
    Rod and main bearings
    4 Hypatec pistions
    chrome rings
    Cometic head gasket
    ARP flywheel & rod bolts
ARP mains and head stud kits
    resize rods
    carck test rods and crank
match grind mains and big ends
    radius oil holes
    Tear drop oil holes
    Hone block
    ballancing machine pistion crown

Thats all for this bill, clutch and underdriven pulley sets are on the way. I hope to see then in the next few days.

Just thought I'd put some of the build tollerances ect that we have used building this engine. I have a few photos but not many, I'll try and get them up tonight but untill then... tech fodder.
    Bore 83mm (bore 3.2685, pistion 3.2665)
    stroke 77mm
    swept cap 1665.6cc
    1mm crushed commetic head gasket @ 60 ft/lbs
    combined combustion chamber 39.4cc
    Compression 10.56:1

    bore/ cylinder clearances .0002
    main bearing clearances .0015 @ 46 ft/lbs (journal size 1.8797)
    big end clearances .0015 @ 36 ft/lbs (journal size 1.6441)
small ends .0011 (journal size .787)

both cams measure the same, Hks, 272 deg, .338 total lift 8.5mm.
lash on intake .0007 exhaust .0010
both the peak openings are set about the 110 deg mark at the moment. These will get fiddled with on the dyno later.

Very good! I am pleased to see thoroughness

Just FYI (although i can't speak for the HKS cams because i don't have their cam cards) most of the well-known-branded 272 cams suggest approximately ~105 degree centrelines for both intake and exhaust But i guess you'll find this out soon on the dyno.

Im sure we will head in that direction with the c-line setup. The guy who is helping with this thing had full TRD support as a privateer in the NZ rall champs in the mid 80's with his 86. We were having a look at his old enging build sheets over the last few weeks and decided to start at 110 inlet and 108 exhaust. He had some crazy 4A's with cams around 320 duration and 12mm lift, 225bhp... no wonder he won the NZ grp A rally champs twice.

ARP dont list a kit for a 4age flywheel bolts anymore, could be the reason why. I will double check them to see before it gets fitted back in the car tonight.
