    Default 4age smallport electrical gremlins

hey i was driving the other day and the car died, thought i had it sorted the fuel pump had no power so i hot wired it to main power. then i was driving today and it stopped again thought it was the pump but then it had no spark. there is a grey relay looking box with the power for the dizzy and the fuel pump going into it and for some reason the two main wires seem to have intermittent power loss does, anyone know where they go to cause i think it must have a lazy relay or something cheers beau

Loose earths are the most common cause of random power loss... Are you 100% the main efi relay / relays are losing power? or are you assuming because of a loss of spark?

Relays can die also. But you check you have power on the high amp input as well as the wire which trips it and for a solid earth. If so then replace the relay.

But start with checking your earth wires first.

i checked all the earths the other day its just a crap conversion on the wiring side of things the wire i thought it was has been spliced into a black wire with a red trace that goes to a unused plug in the engine bay witch must of had ignition power so they used it but now it only has 1.24 volts going through and is half the size core as the other wires so im going to sorce a new wire that is a main ignition and run it through a relay and that should get it going i had it running today, the fuel pump i but in the other day is out of a ae82 so its way to short i cant drive it just surges and runs out of fuel cheers for the help

Add a bit of efi hose to extend it to sit at the bottom of the tank and it'll be ok...

Use 2 efi clamps to be safe...
