    Default AE86 C/H/P upgrade issues

Hey everyone, im after some advice.

Ive recently finished my Corona/Hilux/Peugeot coil over front end upgrade on my ae86, im running MA61 with 195 tyres and im having an issue with the wheels hitting the stock guards.

    My setup is as follows

    XT130 struts shortened 40mm
KYB 365099 struts packed up 20mm
ottomoto coil overs with 5 kg springs
    XT hubs
    XT steering arms
    AE86 LCA's
    AE86 OEM Camber top
    machined Peugeot 604 discs
    Hilux LN106 calipers

It all went together without a problem and when it came time to fit the guards back to the car, and im guessing with the extra track in the front the wheels hit the guards when i bounce it up and down.

Has anyone who has done the conversion come into this problem? and where you able to overcome it without cutting anything out of the guards? Ive alrerady got mine painted

    Cheers Guys

Guessing the car is an ae86?

Basically your using stock length 86 lca and the wheels are 14x7.. So how low is the ride height?
Where Exactly is it hitting? Plastic mud guards?

Only thing I can think of is that your running this car way to low and wrong tyre profile for ride height.. And maybe to much spring compression, adjustable shocks could help here
    dose

    Ya AE86 as per title,
I havent measured the ride hight but when its sitting there there would be about 1-2cm clearance between the tyre and the metal outer lip of the guard. Im thinking the issue is the extra track making the tyre hit the lip on compression and not so much the height.
    May be wrong tho.
Im running 195 60 14 tyres on the MA61 rims

you do gain a small amount of track with this conversion due to the offset of the hole in the XT steering arm. You can run an ae86 steering arm but you wont be able to use RCA's as the LCA will foul on the disc.

Ok, so basically this is what I get from your question....

    Issue:
-tires rub on guards when suspension compresses

    Possible problems:
    -suspension too soft
    -suspension too low
    -increased track

    Possible solutions:
    -get smaller tires
    -raise the suspension
    -get stiffer suspension
    -roll the guards
    -flare the guards
    -get higher offset wheels
    -get camber tops

    hope this helps

Just lip your guards, shouldn't need much more than a lipping. Take guard liners out, grab a nice thick magazine and roll it up to a bar, use a heat gun on the guard to warm the paint up a little then get a mate to go forward and back while you hole the mag between the wheel and the guard.
