    hey buddy, great diagram hah!

its pretty simple. One hose connects from that water pipe that runs from the water pump to the heater box (engine bay heater core outlet/inlet) from memory the outlet on the passenger side.

The remaining outlet (drivers side), connects to the heater tap (bolted to the firewall). From there, a short hose joins the rear outlet on the back of the head.

    hopefully thats clear.

hay man, probably could of just pmd yah but thought id throw a thread up. still not runinng yet, pretty close though, figure out the wiring last weekend, easy as.

so this is roughly what it should look like below?

looking at the diagram im thinking maybe hose from the outlet of the heater core to the tap should got to the other side of the tap for neatness in the engine bay
assuming the tap just controls circulation and it doesnt matter what side of the tap the hoses are connected too.

    yeap looks right.

only thing is, the hose from the back of the head attaches to the shorter end of the tap. So basically the one agains the firewall to the heater box, the one away from the firewall to the head. and obviously the front outlet goes to the radiator

cant remember 100% the arrangement of hoses to heater box, will check my car in the morning and get back to you. Not sure about your theory, but theres no reason why you shouldnt run factory setup if you can.

ok cool yah , if someones got a picture of the back of the engine bay that would be good, but from what we have said sounds right. every picture on google images of 4ac and ae71 is not very helpful, no on ever has a need to take
a picture of the back of the head.
