Default Checklist for an engine conversion!

Hey guys, i know shit like this has been asked a million times but ive tried looking and i cant find what i need.. So im on the urge of buying a 20v and i was wondering is there a certain checklist that i can use to make sure i have all the parts for a conversion? because i dont wanna start and then halfway realise i have more hard to get parts i need to find?

If not, when i get a motor with the wiring harness and the computer, what else will i need? other than gearbox and the waterpumps? i have an ae71 if that helps so theres no crossmembers and shit i need,

    cheers!

I'd hate to pay someone to do a conversion for me. If you want my advice try and hang out for one that's ready to go (either car or complete engine package to come up. They do from time to time and swapping gear over from car to car is easy, even your grandma could do it

Good chance you will have to get extra parts anyway.

    Need engine bits.
    Bigger brakes if you want.
    Better suspension.
And then the rest, mod plates/engineering, ect. Just make sure you know it won't be cheap.

Buy, install, drive. Doesn't get much simpler.

Doing it yourself can be fun too, the amount you learn is amazing and unless your rebuilding the engine there's not that much you can mess up either. It will also be a lot cheaper, will improve your skills, give you a good sense of accomplishment and people won't give you crap for someone else building your car.

I don't know very much about anything but I just completed a blacktop swap from a bare short motor. People more in the know are always willing to help you out all you have to do is ask and troll the Internet.

    Good luck anyway.

i should be able to remove from my car and install into yours if you supply another bigport, pending getting mine into factory in the next week or so

Work out first if you want factory ecu or aftermarket

that will make the ecu/wiring loom optional

    Package wise

Engine, quads, dizzy, igniter , coil, alternator, iscv , knock sensor, either map sensor or afm. If you buy from SSS they are good and will include everything to run it.

Aftermarket bits easy to get are kaizen extractors / wiring loom / adaptronic , samq dizzy relocation / water kit. Spigot bearing do not forget this.

what car are you putting it into?
