Its not fitting the engine that I'm concernd about.. its trying to get hald descent headers down the drivers side past the steering colomn..
This is how my car sits currently.. Except it has less firewall than in this pic..
dangdang..
Any more pictures.??
You going to convert to rear sump.?
Thats roughly about where I think my engine will end up.
You almost need to convert to the center shift possition with the box where it is...
are you putting the new chassis rails inside the car instead of below it red?
stroked 2L ca18-ae86 in the build...eta xmas 2012?
Yeah.. In line with the sills so it can be one the ground.
Stupid stock rails hang down like 40mm.. and there's stuff all room for exhaust either with stock floor pan..
Also changing to a 3 link rear suspension..
Damn it, was keen on getting stuck into an ls1 conversion into my ae71 until i read this thread.. I seen an ls1 s13 and the headers they had seemed to fit around the outside of their steering shaft..
I was hoping there was some model of header that would clear the shaft..
And also, where does the shifter end up if you sit the engine back as far as those pictures, if that is the original handbrake location, I'd say that wouldnt be too uncomfortable and could just run a hydro.
You can get a center shift setup for T68 so the level comes out alot farther forward. Where the other inspection plate bolts on with the 4 bolts in the picture..
