    Hey everyone

I have been looking into ceramic coating the tops of a piston, So far it can be done DIY,

Im thinking of doing the same for my 7age turbo using secondhand gze pistons.

    Does anyone know:

    1. Who sells the shit
    2. Who does coating?

Any info would be really gangster.

    Competition coatings are great.

There are others that do it, but CC have the most effective coating products from my research.

i can see that this is quickly turning into a 7agte thread.

Anywho, Those pistons look exactly like that ones i have mine are just standard early model gze pistons without oil squirter cutouts. Did you use aftermarket conrods or standard 7a ones? if standandard How did you handle the fact that the a conrods have pressed gudgeon pins, do the normal gze ones fit nice and tight? or will there be massive play??

I was hoping to buy some of the stuff myself and coatingthem at home, it only costs about $35 for a small bottle from the states which is enough to do 24 pistons, the only thing is that they dont ship overseas.

Coating is not the easiest thing in the world to do. You'll need an industrial oven that'll get up to around 350 degrees or so, a coarse and fine sandblaster and also a compressor/dryer with a very good spray gun. To be honest, unless you have had experience coating, I would not recommend it. There is a very specific process you have to go through. If you're willing to ship to Sydney, J and J Performance do ceramic coatings and piston stuff. They're on the bottom of the main forums page under "services".
