Default November 1 Road Rule Changes

Thought it might be useful to pass on the link to some of the new road rule changes that are coming in on November 1 this year...

Some are pretty trivial, in that your pet/cow is no longer allowed ride with you on your motorbike.

The one that annoys me out of them is the enforced indication whilst leaving a round about...

Hands free mobiles can only be used if they are in a "commercial" mounting unit... So holding it whilst on speaker phone doesn't quite cut it. Also not mounting your GPS properly will get you a fine under the same category as using a mobile as well.

The roundabout one seems reasonable as does the mobile phone one? Although no one in Brisbane indicates when exiting roundabout anyway I think here is the same fine as not indicating although police usually have better things to do.

That's probably when it was brought out in QLD this is quoting new NSW laws.

When i was taught to drive around 10 years ago, and i use that phrase loosely, we were told to indicate when leaving a round about as a courteous action... Being a rule now, I can see allot of road users getting caught out by it as no one in Sydney does it

Like I said it's been a law in QLD for 8 years or so according to the old man and no one still does it here, haha.
