Default 2014 Subaru STI Turbo BRZ - Rumours / is it comming?

For a while now there have been a few articles released indicating that Subaru will be releasing a turbocharged BRZ under the STI product line.

    According to speedlux.com

Subaru STI will be dropping the DI/port-injection system currently found in the GT86 / BRZ in favour for a straight direct port injection setup.

A twin scroll turbocharger that is developed in house at STI that will see the 2L 4 cyclinder engine output up to approximately 280hp with more than 250 pouds - feet of torque.

It will be interesting to see what Toyota do to follow, though the rumours from Toyota are they are concentrating their efforts on making a convertible.

An STI badged car was spotted at Germany's Nurburgring track, though it is dissapointing that there was no turbo, with the main improvements being on the induction system and suspension.

A turbo is really what this car needs.

annoyed with people saying it needs a turbo thats what it doesnt need, sure we will all put one on but the beauty is its so cheap because it doesnt have one, why spoil such a cool thing? keeping it non turbo is probably what they will do considering they gave the car to hks and other brands well before release so they could develop turbo kits etc.

Whilst I agree with what you have said, if it was a 5-10k optional extra like the RX vs WRX subaru's it would be a win / win situation.
