Default B terminal on alternator...Does it have to be on a fuseable link?

    Car -

    89 Hilux

motor / part in question -

    1UZ Alternator

    problem -

Existing Hilux B terminal alternator wiring runs twin 6mm labyrinth through external voltage reg up to a 60amp fuse-able link in fuse box.
I have bypassed and deleted the external reg.

Celsior 1UZ internal regulator alternator wiring that came with engine runs straight to battery with no fuseable link? but twin 8mm wire

    occurs/started when (if applicable)-

Don't want to blow up brand new alternator.

    personal situation (if applicable)-

    Broke ass negro

? So can I connect B on alt straight to battery, or do I piggy back the smaller 6mm wiring on Hilux through fusible link?
I would have to step the wiring down, kinda seem retarded and would be messy....

Personally I think happy medium would be to purchase a separate fuseable link and run the twin 8mm through it then to the battery.

    What says you>?

I just read on oldschool forums that the 1UZ Alt is a 120amp.
So the Hilux fuse is way too small.

Yeah it will be a 120A alternator but you wont ever be drawing anywhere near that...Celsior has electric everything which you no longer wil have in the hilux...How long will your twin 8mm cable be running/wath path to the battery?

Yeah, unlike Celsior, Hilux battery is on the same side as alternator, so the twin 8mm run would be lucky to be 500mm long, only detour is underneath power steering box and shaft then straight up to battery.

Well simple answer is yes fuse it,60A will be well suficient as it will take 120A to blow that fuse, but id prob but a 80A in there.

So I'm looking at the fusebox on the Lux, and thinking about just using the factory 60Amp fusible link position with a 80Amp fusible link installed into its place, but there is something screwy. The blade terminals that it pushes onto only has 1 terminal connected to 6mm thick wire? There is nothing off the other side? Huh... I don't understand? Shouldn't this have come from the B terminal off the 22R alt, and then up to the + terminal on battery?

Hmm, worked it out, the other blade has a plate that is sneakily molded into the fuse box at joints to main battery terminal wiring.
If had me stumped for a while there.

    Paul,
I have 3 relay's all piggy backed off each other on the 12V constant from a 30amp fuse.
I have injectors and coils on relay 1, B1+/B+ & IGSW for the ECU power on relay 2, and nothing on relay 3 yet, but was thinking about putting Rad fan on there.
Is it ok to do this?
Or should I have separate runs with fuses for each?
Just have a feeling that all pulling at once might be a bit too much for a single 30amp fuse.

    Hang on, I think i've made a mistake....IS Black/Orange on Toyota loom 12V IGN or 12V Constant?
The factory loom Black/Orange runs to injectors and and coils on same run.
    Should they be constant?
Injectors I can understand constant, but coils??
Is there anything wrong with running them off 12V IGN?
