    Default 3-tc T50 to 4AGEDO

Does the T50 out of a t18 with 3tc bolt on to 4age? I am not sure of the bell housings are different.

Tim, pretty sure that they are different.

    AE71 T50 is the one

Series two T-18 (plastic bumper type) has the same tailshaft spline as AE71 and AE86. Early T-18 (chrome bumper type) has a couple less on the spline count for the tailshaft. Both types of T-18 box will require either an AE71 or AE86 bellhousing to mate to a 4A engine.

From what I've seen and read there's 4 main "types" of T50:
    - TA22, forward shifter, T bellhousing, 20 spline
    - Early T18, rear shifter, T bellhousing, 20 spline
    - Late T18, rear shifter, T bellhousing, 22 spline
    - AE71/AE86, rear shifter, A bellhousing, 22 spline (only difference with JDM AE86 is location of the clutch slave).

There are also some internal differences (eg, I couldn't swap 2nd gear from a T18 box to an AE86 box as the centre bore was a few mm different), and something about a change of the input bearing through the years but these are more minor.

And yes, they are all alloy split case boxes.
