The way I understand it, you're supposed to put a feeler gauge between where the throttle stop screw and throttle lever are. By varying the feeler gauge thickness, you're effectively varying the opening/closing of the butterfly valves.

The first setting, at 0mm (so no feeler gauge inserted at all) has the resistance value between VTA & E2 to range between 0.3 & 6.3 kohms. Which means when the throttle's fully closed, the resistance should be between those values. But with such a large difference between those values, how are you supposed to know what to aim for?

From that I just move on to "self adjusting". This is time intensive and you will need a little more patience to get the right feel from your accelerator pedal. You have to find the balance between closed throttle and slightly open throttle and where the TPS sits in regards to both. It is as much a measured process as it is one on feel.

Turns out it was the dashpot/throttle opener. Wound the whole adjuster screw out, and now the engine revs like normal. Wierd, I think some of the measurements in the manual are off. Or maybe my feeler gauge is wrong.

Thanks for all the tips guys, I managed to adjust the tps as well using timbo's method.
