here's the obligatory build thread on the 86's fat cousin
I was looking for a little project and when my brother told me he was selling the supra i had to grab it up, i just loved the look of the old girl, even if it did need a little clean.
so after some creative tying down it was on a car trailer and on its way to its new home.
She sat for a few months collecting dust and generally taking up half of my garage for no reason,
then after the driftfest 01 at Raleigh i had a sudden surge of motivation to get my project up and running. and the decision was made, it was going to be a track car, couldnt be bothered to sort out all the problems to get it registered.
so, first step. STRIP IT OF EVERYTHING!...that i dont need.
Which then took up the other half of the garage with all the crap that came out. there's no way it all fit into it before :-/
But it was Done.
I was intending on respraying it too, but after not being able to decide on a color i would like or if i even wanted to bother i decided i had to do something to cover the munted clearcoat that annoyed me to look at.
we have a vinyl cutting machine at work so i made up a design of different logos, pictures, and general random shit and this is the result, i like it, might not be everyones cup of tea but 1. it covers the crappy clearcoat and 2. its different.
still have a lotttttttt more stickerbombing to go but by the start of next year the whole car above the sill line will be covered. ( we ran out of vinyl lol )
front fender flairs are feked too so zipties to the rescue! for that fully sick drift look...
and parts have started arriving in the mail so its slowly starting to come back together
soon i'll be making a new center console and under dash, installing new seats, new wheels, suspension. and much later a half cage and some delicious engine swap options that are sitting here waiting for a new life
Updates soon
Nate out.
