Default 4AGE twin carb conversion help

Howdy, i wanna run some twin solex's on my bigport, i got the TVIS shit off my engine, tried fitting up the carbs and looks like the two end studs are too long, any hot tips in removing them? and what should i replace em with?

Also how do i go about blocking up the injector holes?

Ive got a dizzy with the kit and the fuel system so i think i should be sweet with the rest of the setup.

    cheers!!

Use two nuts on the studs to get them out; thread the nuts on the stud then bind them on each other, you should then be able to pull the stud out by turning the nut closer to the head as it binds again the outer nut. I hope that makes sense...

Injector holes can be plugged up, how, I'm not sure. Someone will know though.

I'm currently doing the same on my engine and have the same problem with studs.

I have some custom made plugs for the injector holes which you should easily be able to find someone that can machine some up for you, I have also heard of people using frost plugs, or even just using the fuel rail and injectors.

reckon you can put a pic up of your plugs? or some dimensions as ive got a mate who can probably spin some up for me, also how do you stop em from popping out?

Sure man I'll get some now. Gasket sealant or some sort of sealant that is compilable with fuel.

    EDIT:
    Here ya go

I know you probably want to remove the studs, but if you're worried about them breaking off - why not get your mate to machine up some spacers that take up the slack on them. That way - no broken studs & if you decide to go back to the TVIS set up its all ready to go.

they are too long and hit the manifold, if i cut them down there will be no thread left.

It's more the studs hitting the other side of the manifold for me which won't let it sit all the way against on the ports/head.

I tapped the injector holes to M12 and put some cut down allen head bolts in them. The heads fitted nicely in the injector boss and you can always refit injectors if needed later.
