Default 95 townace diff / rear axle

Hey guys, does anyone have any info on what the rear axle/diff would be in a 1995 townace with a 3y engine, I've tried googling but can't really find anything! What series, I'm assuming f? Width, stud pattern etc?

That won't tell him the track width ya goose.

Seems they made YR22 and YR30 in 95. YR22 Tarago is F, 20 and 21 are E. All YR2* are 4 stud, 1455 reported width. As far as I know all YR3* are f-series. My YR30 diff was 5 stud and I remember it being a little wider than 1455 but I might be wrong. 3Y townace could be a YR21 which is also an F. Got no idea what stud pattern it is. Guess is 4.

Off topic but did a cross-reference search for 4 stud f-series axle and pretty much every car that had a live axle f has the same axle. Having such a hard time finding a 5 stud f-series. I know there is a 5 stud YR30 but I can't find it !

You the guy I was talking to yesterday about diffs? Want me to dig up the info about explorer 8.8?

Can you check the build plate on the van? Could be just below and in front of the driver's seat.

I'd also guess E, but that's based mainly on the diff spread seen in Taragos, not a wealth of experience with townaces.

And Skylar, MS112 is live axle 5stud F with discs, good handbrake and enormous axle bearings. Can't remember width though.

Thanks for the info guys, great help! No Havnt been able to check the plate but will look in to it and hopefully go and measure some. I'm just hunting around for a diff for the ae71 and seen a few townaces being wrecked on gumtree so thought I'd ask the question.
skylar - no sorry wasn't me asking, how ever you do have me interested now

Hen, nah, it's out of a tarago type car for sure. 4wd Yr30 with sun and twin moon roof, Japan import. I haven't looked super hard but I can't find a 5 stud yr30 on toyodiy. Wasn't crown like 15xx wide? I seen one fitted to a corolla and it was real wide.

Jesse, there's a dude wrecking a explorer complete on gumtree. Listed price is 100 but I think thats for the parts they've mentioned. You need two short axles anyway so you gotta hunt around for at least another axle. 8.8" and 31 spline. You'll never break that even with 700hp.

Can't remember how wide Crown is now, but I have measured it and posted it somewhere... probably 5-6 years ago... maybe Norbie's diff database. Fitted to a Sprinter with 15x7 +4 wheels and 195/50 15s I had to slightly roll the guards, so I don't think it's crazy wide.
