    Default Ignition barrel

Well someone tried to steal my car and mangled the drivers side door lock and the ignition barrel. I want to know if i have to get a barrel and doorl ock from a diff car thus leaving me with 2 sets of keys (passenger and boot) or if i can get my current key made to fit. I got no idea, never had a car broken into before.

    cheers

if you take it to a lock smith they can repin the ignition barrel to suit your key... Get a new one if you can as the old ones wear out and stop working properly. Plus it is a defect if you can remove the key whilst it is not in the lock position.

Best bet would be to get a new barrel.
Yes. Defectable indeed. Mate of mine had a car you could start with a screwdriver and then proceed to pull it out of the ignition barrel and continue driving.
