    Default 4age Dizzy timing.

    Hey guys

Over Christmas I have just changed clutch, rear main, and rebuilt dizzy.

However, because I am so smart. I rebuilt my dizzy aswell.
Now undoing the flywheel the crank moved (without the dizzy in the engine, retart I know )

Now everything is back together, however she won't fire.
Now I turned the crank indent to where it was marked 0. And set the dizzy to fire 1st (which is the top right pickup, facing the open cap?)
    And she still didn't fire.
Also rotated the dizzy forward and back within the housing and still no go.

Is the marking on the front where the crank pulley marks 0 = Top dead centre.

Or is there something simple to go by?

    Cheers cameron

That's it man, then on the dizzy shaft there is a dot, line it up with the mark on the dizzy hole.

Crank at 0, Cams on their timing mark just make sure the indent near the cam lobe is up, if not then crank another 360 degree till it is, dizzy has it owns marks line them up, install dizzy can be fiddly as it tries (and usually does) jump 1 tooth on install. then start, that is all.

If no firing then you have done something to the dizzy that's effected it.

and line up the marking on the cam gear + crank... You should also see a dimple on the cam when you remove the oil cap.

Here is a video how to verify the timing belt is done right...

Also bridge your diag pins before you set the timing.

    You got a timing light?

Thanks for the replies boys. I will try tonight after work, see how I go.

Nah I don't have a timing light. Helps dial in the timing once I get it firing?

    She runs!

You guys were awesome ! Thanks heaps. She fired first go. Cranks and cams were perfect, just I didn't align the dizzy properly.

In such a better headspace then where I was yesterday.

    Top work again guys!
