Default how to fit an oem rear spoiler?

apologies in advance if this is in the wrong section i couldnt see anywhere else for it!
i picked up an original genuine rear spoiler today and as my boot door has never been fitted with one before im just wondering what way lads find the correct positions to drill the holes on the boot door for the bolts to attach the spoiler?

Sit it in the correct position, get a whiteboard marker, pencil etc something you can get off the paint after

    1. Trace around the shape of the spoiler onto the body
    2. Take spoiler off and flip upside down so you can see where the bolts are
    3. From the bolts get a ruler or tape measure and measurethe distance betweenthe edge of the spoiler to the bolts
    4. Do the same on the body of the car where you traced
    5. Drill a hole

thats how i did my spirit wing on my ke70

Heres a pic of how it turned out, sits perfecto
