Default 4AGE smallport > 4AGZE (smallport, MAP, etc.) wiring compatability.

    Car - KE70

Motor / part in question - Engine loom.

Problem - I have currently got a smallport 4AGE in one of my KE70s and it has incredibly low compression (so low it wont run). Now I have been looking for a replacement smallport, however people want drug money for them these days. I have however found a smallport, MAP sensored GZE complete car quite cheap. Now I dont want to have to extend and modify ANOTHER loom, so basically my question is, can I use my current smallport loom on the GZE with the GZE computer? I know the CAS will be different, however apparently the wiring for the plugs correspond and its just a matter of swapping them, will I have any other issues?

Also, having a hard time finding a pinout diagram for a 4AGZE in a smallport map sensor model, if any one has a link, that would be appreciated so I can compare it to a regular smallport.

    Thanks.

All I can think of off the top of my head is:

ignitor has more wires going to it.
No supercharger relay or supercharger control functionality.

Both are banked injection. Both have knock sensor. Why do you say the CAS is different? I thought they were the same.

is it an ae92 or ae101 gze?

Damn, sounds like the ignitor might be my only downfall here. The super charger relay wouldn't be an issue as it would be used with a turbo instead.

I think the wiring for the CAS IS the same as the dizzy, I just thought they had a different plug maybe?

Motor is currently in a AE92, I can only assume it was originally a AE92 one.

Huh, you're gonna turbo it? In that case, just leave the distributor and ignitor. Wait, turbo on stock ecu or a plug in adaptronic or something?

Re: CAS I thought they all had the same 4 pin rounded square plug.

Oh and I forgot last time but MAP sensor is different. 1 bar vs 2 bar. I don't know if the plug is the same.

I think they ran resistor packs too. The smallport loom probably doesn't have provision for this. Won't be hard to wire in.

1- Check whether ECU plugs are the same GE vs GZE
2- If so then you **should** be able to reuse your loom with some minor repinning and splicing

The dizzy pickups are the same across smallports (can't comment on plugs). But on a GZE you have a different ignitor and twincoils rather than a single coil and distributor. That will probably be your biggest conversion issue.

Thanks for your input guys. I think the GZE that I was considering has now been snapped up, although ill use this information incase another pops up.

In the mean time, back to looking for a regular smallport.
