itís a 1988 318i e30 always loved these things but Iíve always bought a Toyota instead up till now, this one was so cheap I couldnít say no

Donít tempt me if I didnít already have a beams sitting in the garage at the moment I probably would have gone a 1j

this is the plan at the moment Iíve got a really clean 3s beams sitting in the garage at the moment with a 3vz 4runner bellhousing bolted up, then a 2009 r155 5speed bolted up to that it looks to be the same as a late model r154 but the input shaft is shorter the ratios are different and the shifter is also different more forward
I still need to sort out a starter motor clutch flywheel and also need to get my hands on a jzx100 shifter it looks like it should bolt up to the r155 gearbox

3 out of the main bellhousing bolts line up and all the dowel pins do so there shouldnít be any alignment issues just need to tig up that last bolt hole so it fits

this show how well the r155 shorter input shaft fits with the beams just need to get a spigot bearing as it use to be an auto if it all fits it will be good

wrong again Iím going to turbo it thatís the reason it got an r155 attached to it the bottom end looks the same as the turbo 3sge in the Caldina except the pistons are different for higher comp this is from what of read so if Iím wrong let me know Iím just going to boost it and see what happens but that will be ages away got plans for a cage bucket seat and get it on track first

What coilovers did you get. Complete kit or did you need to cut and weld?

got some xyz coilovers in a complete kit with base height adjustment and damper adjustment its got a complicated strut so Iíve had to cut the bottom of it off and weld on the bottom of the coilover onto it ill get some picís up soon

Also picked up a custom flywheel today that should suit the gearbox ill have to see when I get a clutch and starter motor

this is what flywheel looks like holds a 225mm clutch i think it was based off a beams flywheel to convert early 3sge's to rwd

got a cheap clutch off a 1985 hilux it had the right bolt pattern and the 21 spline input shaft fitted perfect

just a quick pic off the front coilovers as i said i would, i had to cut the bottom of the strut off and then press on a weld on sleeve that holds the coilover to the knuckle

also wanted to see what it would look like with a turbo on the side very tempting indeed
