argh.... so you asking to be able to spot a adm made to look like a jdm trueno? check for all the usual things like wiring.. should look factory.check the vin plate, if its a adm vin plate then its not a factory trueno. the cluster surround should have four settings on the light switch for the pop up lights.
other give aways will be stuff like does it have a t series diff, jdm interior etc. also the windscreen on a jdm is longer. roof lining is different on jdm versions too.

Ok thanks for that. At this stage the entire car is stripped out. And yeah I want to make sure it hasn't been made to look like a jdm trueno. I when u say vin plate what shouldn't look like? Thank you for your help mate. Makes things a little easier.

Well adm cars will have an Australian compliance plate. Jdm cars will have one with kanji written on it I believe. end of the day the chassis code is Ae86 so adm or jdm its still a hachi. Bonus of jdm version is it'll have everything you want from factory. Still the same car thoughalso check the legalitys of getting it rego'd if that's what your plans are, needs import approval etc. (that's if it is jdm).

From what I understand it has been on the road previously. Can I pm you and ask some question and get your opinion on the asking price?

If you look near the vin number there should be a metal plate that shows you if it originally came with 4ac or 4age (adm 4ac jdm 4age), on it as well the vin number with it.
That how I go by it

The most accurate way to check if it's a Trueno or not is to have a look at the build plate. You're looking for the model code. Some examples of model codes are:
    E-AE85-FSPNS
    E-AE86-FSMVS

The F in the code means it's a Trueno. Also, I believe the ADM models have a sixth letter in the last section of the code (both of these codes were of cars built in Japan and only have five letters). I think the sixth letter for ADM models is either an A, B or Q.
