SA HELP! Need engine rebuilder
Hey SA 86 guys
Wanting to know if anyone has had any first hand experience with an engine rebuilder in SA,
basically I either need to find someone I can leave my car to and get my current 4AGE (16v small port bottom end/big port head) rebuilt or rip the whole engine out and replace (depending on cost's etc)
Ive been recommended TW Engineering so far, from mates who've had their engine rebuilt by them

not sure at this stage as I'm not in the state to pull down of the motor to check,
from what I've been told basically its both top and bottom end (hence possibly getting another 4age), really depends on whats salvageable/how bad it is .etc
So thats where I was hoping an engine re-builder could have a quick tinker and say if its worth pulling apart and replacing a few bits, or source a rebuilt 4age
could always give davey a bell, he can rip it apart and let you know what it needs/how its looking, can also rebuild it for you

Hey just curious, how did ur 4ag go with a small port bottem end?
yeah it was a pretty good motor, cant really compare it to anything tho as it's been the only 4age in the car, made around 75-80kw/100-105hp at the wheels
Chris Milton Engineering. Maybe a touch on the dear side but he knows what hes doing. Did some machining on my new bigport head and rods.

Had them rebuild a motor of mine, got it back motor was fucked making terrible noises. The car had to be towed there then they called me to let me know they had shaved the head in the rebuild and now the cam i had in there was to large and had to be removed and standard one put back in. So very pissed off picked my car up when fixed got down the road and the bonnet nearly blew up cause they hadn't latched it down i know semi my fault for not noticing straight away but don't tell some one there cars good to go when its not. Finally sold the car the next year had only done 1,500kms had it serviced by them when due and had bedded the motor in properly got a phone call a week later from the new owner letting me know the motor had shit its pants timing chain snapped so on and so forth she had called API and they told her the warranty covered me not the motor so i called them and they said they wouldn't have covered me anyway cause it was apparently a performance motor. So after telling me i had a warranty which is worthless They can go get Fucked.
