Default HELP NEEDED 4AGE turbo microtech lt10s thermo fan wiring

    Hey guys

I have just recently purchased a ae86 with a 4age turbo convertion running a microtech lt10s and 4x ignition unit my prblem is the thermo fans arent working so im was planning on just rewiring them to the microtech. The fans are already running to a rely but there are to empty connections on that rely i just want to know if any one can explain what wires i need to run to that rely or what i need or should do

would really help if anyone has some advice or diagrams thanks guys

I had issue's trying to get Microtech AUXfan to fire the relay at any given temp.
Just wouldn't do it? Maybe I had it wired wrong, not sure, but have heard same issue from others.
Been a while, but you will need hand control so you can go in and check screen set AUXfan on and set up temp.
Spose to kick in 5deg before temp you set, but just didn't work for me.
Warning, If you don't know what you doing, don't muck around with hand control, as you can accidentally change settings.

You could bypass the LT ECU altogether and use thermo sensor/switch to trigger relay.

Alternatively you could try Mircotech site forums and ask for help, but now days they are pretty shit, most threads go ignored.

I just use a standalone thermoswitch to control the fans......
Very simple to took up, and is very effective......

I have my thermo controlled by my microtech LT10s. Works fine, only thing is I can't remember how I wired it up haha!

As JoJo said though, use a stand alone switch if you have problems. I used to use a Davies Craig switch back when I had a 5K in the car. To set it to come on at the correct temperature, wind the dial to max, then when the car gets to the temperature you want the fan to come on at, turn the dial back slowly until it triggers the fan to come on.

I think you can get the Davies Craig thermo switches from Supercheap too.

to be honest i think its probably one of the easiest things to wire in on your microtech
i had mine set to 84 degrees and works lol
this is how your wire it
    pin 30 - 12v from battery (fuse)
    pin 87 - positive to thermo's
pin 85 - earth trigger from microtech to control relay
    pin 86 - ignition power

    hope this helps

also if you wanna just try your thermo to see if it works at all
go into your ecu setup screen and change your cylinder configuration and change it to 0 cyls this will activate your coils, injectors (without fuel pump running) and thermo on and off

^^ All very true what you have said Tristan, with the relay example etc, but Gorgi is having the same problem as some other microtech users....
Mine did the same as Gorgis....
ie; All wired up correctly, setup correctly on ECU settings, but still nothing from the microtech trigger wire...

Could be a common bug issue on the Microtechs.....

Yup, AUXfan and Fuel pump prime, 2 common issues with microtech ECUs.
I contacted Microtech about my issues, they told me to send it back to them.
They said they were aware of the fuel pump prime issue, the diagram was wrong and fryed internals.
I was running a surge tank with low pressure pump and 040 and had all ready rigged therms sensor switch so I ran with it.
I never got the AUXfan to work, wired as above.
I had a mate with the same problem.

Looking back, for the money I paid, I would go Haltech now.
