    Hontou ni? Haha Yataa!
My japanese is currently basic anyway.
I really need both somone to practice with and somewhere to study if I want to improve at any decent rate.
I'm hoping I can come for a month or so next year. Depending how that goes I might move there for a while.
Figure I need to save ~12k first
4k for car (s13/14 plus some go sideways bits)
    6k tickets, accommodation, food etc.
    2k spend money (Akihabara) haha.

But obviously things don't usually go to plan so who knows. I will come eventually though regardless. ^_^

Well I didn't know they had a drift matsuri until you just now told me haha
But the ebisu circuit was already high on my 'must visit' list.
I was under the impression that they either hold regular drift practice days or its open to drive on whenever they aren't holding events? Some of my favourite youtube clips are from that track
But I would definitely love to go when a matsuri is held. Would be epic
Oh and btw I chose a silvia as the car to get when im there because of easy, cheap sideways fun. Id much prefer to get another ae86 but they're soo damn expensive, even there.

And don't stress haha I'll be hitting up everyone I know there for tips, directions rules, help etc. So I'm sure you'll hear from me when the time comes :p

Yeah they have em a couple of times a year, im yet to go though.

You can go anytime though i think the matsuri is just a big party type thing.

Im thinking of getting a silvia someday $1000 plus bucks of cheap power that doesnt matter if you smash it up. Cant get good worrying about guard railing the trueno all the time.

    Youll have fun man!

    Tyrone,

If you're looking at only going for a month then don't even consider buying a car while you're there (unless you've got connections in Japan it'll never happen anyway). Talk to Shane Bingham (drop my name) and he'll help you out. He runs drifting tours from time to time and although he's extremely busy at the moment he'll set you up with a track car and take you to all the tracks and shops you'll ever want to see. He usually takes a crew to Ebisu Matsuri every year. This will save you a lot of cash and ensure you get the most out of your time there. He'll also keep you out of trouble (Japanese police can hold you for up to 23 days without charge and without bail and can make a seemingly minor incident become huge. It's a great way to fuck your holiday).

Personally, I wouldn't bother doing all my shopping at Akihabara, I've found better prices at my local BIC Camera shop, but check it all out if you just want to be dazzled by lights and large volumes of people. But if you've never been to Japan there are some worthwhile places to check out around that area. It all depends what you want out of your time there. Personally, I have more fun in the smaller countryside places. You're not going to need anything like $12K for a month long holiday in Japan, it's much cheaper than Australia and the Aussie dollar is strong as right now.

Tristan, how long have you been in Japan now?

Do some research on when and where you want to go.
I see dumb people. Driving around like regular people. They don't see each other. They only see what they want to see. They don't know they're dumb.
