    Talking Painting Costs.

hey guys as im going to be respraying my car i was wondering if anyone knows anywhere in the syd region that would be good for paint and a lil body work/rust(old owner said he got it all out),

so i have herd of something like dj auto restorations or something that can do good cheap jobs,
i went to a banel beater and to get rid of some rust, mould the 2 rear bolton flairs on better and paint a differnt colour would cost me about 4-5g i felt that was kinda point less as the car isnt really worth much more,

its not going to be a show car so i dont really mind on how good it is but i still want it to look kinda clean

    cheers calluummmmm.

hey man, are u handy with a welder and a grinder?
if so u could always have a go yourself..
its what i would do anyway.. im going to paint my car down the track.. and like u said its not going to be a show car.. id just prep it up, gut it.. call around to see who would let u hire a spray booth and go to town..
if u want to paint it 2k u really need to do it in a booth - for 1 its toxic as and if its not baked it will take days to dry and by then u will have grasshoppers and sticks all in your paint.
acrylic u can paint in your back yard - but u dont get a nice gloss off the gun , needs some bufing and alot of clear coat and its not as durable ..

im sure some guys on here will know someone who will do it for cheaper then 4-5G

me and my mate used to spray 2k in his driveway... not legal but did the trick

if your doing it this way the trick is to lay it on theick and get as less runs as possible, then when your all dry just block the runs and imperfections outta it and give it a buff

    thats how im spraying mine

hey mate did you end up finding anywhere to paint you car n get rid of the rust?

I'm looking to do the same in the next month or so
I got quoted 2.5 from a mob in Alexandria
I'll be looking around though see if I can get a better price.

2.5 k sounds pretty good I'm going to prep it myself and get my mate to paint it. My brother was going to paint and do some body work. For mates rate with his boss and he said 3-4 k

yeah it doesn't have too much rust in it and I'm just going plain old white and I'm not after a show car finish so I'm not getting all the dints etc filled etc
I would love to do it all myself but I live in a unit so it makes things pretty hard plus finding time is rediculously hard too

There's a panel shop in Kirrawee that does them. They've done a few sprinters and will be doing my car in a few weeks.

Complete smash repairs I think they're called? Located close to Just Jap I'm pretty sure..
