Default Ke70 headlight relay for brighter lighter help!

Hey so I have looked for ages and cannot find a answer. So my headlights are shit and I have wired 2 relays in the circuit to try make them brighter. First of all I have used this diagram..

Now at the bottom ,low beam circuit and high beam I used the stock red/yellow and red/green wires that went into the stock h4 connector for the trigger. As far the stock red/black 12v common wires I didn't use them instead I just earthed that pin of the light to the body.

    Problem... Nothin works!!

When I flick the lights all I can hear is the stock relay clicking, so I believe my trigger wires are wrong. Been trying to work this out but it's doing my head in. I know ive got something slightly mixed something up, so if someone can please correct me.. It will be maaad
FYI this is the back of the standard H4 connector that I referenced to. And the coloured wires I chopped to act as the triggers..

Not a huge effort, but are the headlight fuses in tact in the fuse box...

Yeah saw that page, doesn't really help my situation. I'm not no auto electrician, but doesn't wiring the lights this way effectively bypass the stock relay and fuses as power is supplied from the new relays..

Are you sure the lights are being switched ground? I can check tomor but maybe there switched positive? Did you defiantly have a 12v common at the headlamp plug before ya started?

yep 100% everything worked how it should before I started. I'm gonna have another go tomorrow and try work it out. It's just one of those things that get more complicated the more I think about it.

Any other ideas I can try tomorrow.

Yes but although Toyota are normally switched earth (12v common) some can be switched positive(earth common) , what have you wired to pins 85 and 86 of your relays?

Ahh I think I know where your going with this.. I'm pretty sure I put 85 to earth, 86 to the red/yellow, red/green wires (one for each relay) from the stock h4 connector. Thinking of how the headlight switch works I'm beginning to think its wrong..

Yup sounds wrong, presuming the lo and hi beams are switched ground your pins 86 should be 12v ign or just loop from your 30 on each relay, and 85 to your triggers.
