CAR - KE70
MOTOR -Bigport 16v map type
USE -on the road
PROBLEM/QUESTION -ecu pinouts seem different to the loom pinouts
OCCURS/STARTED WHEN -
Hi everyone i recently purchased a stock jdm map ecu and also brought what i thought was a jdm loom but now im thinking its adm.
The loom has grey plugs and fit into the computer but i have no power to the coil or injectors. now i have read abit and i do you know you have to give injectors 12v switched but my problem is that none of the pinouts match the loom so i dont even know where to start ie yellow wire for injectors is not where it should be.
Question is
is their anyone famillar enough with 4ages on the central coast of NSW willing to help me wire up the car i am willing to pay prefered choice if anyones out there.
or if not would anyone have a clear ADM diagram and ecu pinouts that i could try to change it around to work with jap ecu
any help would be appreciated as i am really stuck with this one
i will take photos of plugs and loom tomorrow

1974 MX22 MARK II CORONA HARDTOP COUPE - Awaiting a full restoration
none of my pinouts match up and there seems to be alot of wires just spliced into each other or going over to other random plugs.
example my 14 pin connector has only 4 wires on it and all of them go together and then down into the relay.
there are 2 wires on my 10 pin that go to this relay to also
my relay has a extended wire on it im thinking it is 12v switched but im worried about putting power to it as i dont even know if thew wires are going into the right ecu pinouts. note in the first photo the red wire is NOT spliced with red just poor placement of wires
could anyone tell me if the wires for 14pin are right and if they are in the right place for jdm ecu
im pretty stuck and dont know where to start so sorry if this doesnt make much sense but if anything specific is needed just ask me to photo it.
woo sa take a breath and relax lol
You have everything you need... Look at the ecu pinout and the plug from the back and it'll add up.

They are the pins you have connected.

i havnt cut or twisted anything yet all this is previous owner of the loom. sorry my electrical skils are pretty basic but what does that relay power? and are you saying i should put 12v switched to that relay? anyways guys i am off to work but will check this out more tomorrow so you will hear from me then
thanks for your help so far
To be honest if you don't know what that relay is for, perhaps you should pay someone to sort it out for you.

i know it powers the fuel pump while cranking just dont know the terms youve used.
my main concern is none of the pins on the connector match where they should be on the ecu i was reading up on the guide that has been posted and it says that in the 10 pin connector there should be a yellow wire for injectors well my 10 pin connector doesnt have that wire :refer first pic.
so makes me wonder what else doesnt match up
is their any way to find out what loom i have?
Doesn't need it. It's just a confirmation signal to say yep, injectors have power, all systems are GO!
I have no idea what loom you have, I've never seen an AE86 or AE82 loom with grey plugs. AE92 use a different plug with a different grey so not that either. Could it be a late model 7 rib bigport?
Carina/Corona/MR2? 22RE loom adapted to work on 4a? Other toyotas of same age use same plugs and similar enough colours.
i dont know if im better of trying to make this work or get a proper jdm loom
the loom itself looks to be ok its just at the plug end there has been alot of chopping and changing
so wondering how hard it would be to chop it off and wire up again with correct pinouts?
