Default How is the horn mechanism meant to work? Is there a fuse somewhere?

So I'm perplexed, on the old steering boss the horn button was fucked so I purchased a new one. However the little contact-y thing pictured here does not reach the boss.

Also is there a way to test if the horn works/is there a fuse, because I cant get it to work lol.

It could just be stuck in that position, get some lubricating spray and see if you can wiggle it out. I had the same thing happen to me, it was just full of gunk and dust.

same problem with mine, used electrical spray lube

yeah once you sort out the contact, i think there is a fuse from memory...almost certain there is. Remove the plug from the horn and with a test light / multimeter check your getting 12v at one terminal and good earth at the other. 86 horns are veryy basic

In the end, it improved with some inox, but still too short.. so I did this

The old broken parts from the other boss + epoxy and I extended the boss's contact 1cm. Might've been a issue with the steering column idk, it has a fair bit of play.
