Default craigs busted ass SR KE

well my blue ke has been sitting for ages after getting stickered n stripping it to build my 86. i came across a mate selling his stickered sr ke for cheap so thought stuff it n bought it.

was a really crap build and essentially just a ke with an s14 sr tech screwed in. nearly standard everything apart from an F series. in his defense he didnt build it haha

plans were to take the diff out and sell the car on but it was in poor condition and i couldnt bare to sell something so rough.

its been sitting in my front yard for 2 months but ive been off work with a broken collar bone so figured id just mash the two together. albeit a bit better built and some better parts

plans are to build a cheap drift thrasher that i have no real attachment to with parts i have laying around. seems to be working

    engine:

    s14 sr20
    tomei rocker stoppers
    greddy sump
    polyurethane mounts
    fmic, new joiners
    worley alu radiator
greddy remote oil filter with braided lines
    generic oil cooler
full s14 wiring loom, fuse box etc
    standard ecu
    boost T

    Driveline:

    sr20 gearbox
    polyurethane mount
    exedy hd clutch
    custom 1 piece tailshaft
    E series poo
    redneck lsd

    Fuel:

    te71 jdm efi tank
    2L surge tank in boot
    bosch VL main
    rattler lift
    new hoses
te71 8mm feed line to engine bay

    susp:

    new poly bushes everywhere
    +40mm rose jointed lcas
    ajps 40mm rcas
tein coilovers unknown rates very stiff
    trd yellows front
    bilstein rear
rear low springs unknown rates very stiff
    cusco cambertops
    ajps lock spacer
    jdi knuckles
    jdm brakes
    rda slotted + dimpled rotors

    interior:
    s14 dash
    oil + boost gauges
under dash components removed (heater, blower etc)
s14 loom spliced into ke loom
    ta63 carina passenger seat
    sparco sprint fixed back bucket
    new omp harnesses
    hydro handbrake

    body:

    front on rear conversion
    hand flared fronts
    madhouse lip
    quad lights
front gaurds cut for castor clearance
    ultra racing strut brace
    ultra fender braces

    15x8 +0 rota grid front
    15x9 +0 rota rkr rear X6
    thats about it really.

what it used to look like

    donor

last few days have just been spent stripping the engine and other parts out

i also forgot that you should drain the gearbox oil before removal. lucky its my house

    engine out

    dash and wiring done

radiator mounted, fmic mounted, front end mock install. it all fits

so thats about where im at. i have to roll the shell up the driveway where i can take the crossmember and diff out before it can be sent to scrap.
waiting on new poly engine and gb mounts before i can fit it properly

    hope yas like it

I'm surprised I've never seen your 86 around Perth mate! Not like you can miss it! Love the colour! The SR KE is looking rad! Keen to see it rip at barbs!

Haha yea I live in the hills n I'm a bit of a hermit. Plus I always stress about taking it down the hill cause of defect. It's sees the occasional trip to innaloo to see the girly but Haha. I missed the last 86 meet cause i was at work. N yea lookin forward to getting the ke finished. Should be a bit of fun at barbs.

Crossmember and front susp out of the donor today. Did a lil more on the fuel system too.

i also managed to get a sparco sprint seat, dish steering wheel with boss and a set of teins with trd shocks in them. Should be good

got a bit of crap done today

the motor and box are in and bolted up and mostly wired in. steering rack has been refurbed with new boots, ends and a lock spacer. te71 fuel tank and surge tank nearly finished

have also had a few goodies arrive which is always fun

a pair of teins with camber tops and trd yellows. unsure of the spring rates but they feel pretty damn stiff ( maybe too stiff)

    full front bush kit

sparco sprint fixed back with new omp 4 pt harnesses

ive got some xt130 lcas coming plus rda slotted and dimpled front rotors to suit jdm brakes

    its slowly coming together

well i got made redundant at work so 6 weeks paid time off

been just working on this everyday getting things sorted

interiors pretty much done, just gotta make the cover to go over the hole i had to cut for the shifter location. how do most ppl do this because its going to need to be pretty complex??
seats in, mounts modified to fit harness mount lock
    harnesses are in
    all wiring is finished
    motors in and running now

just waitinf on the lcas and some jdi knuckles to come and i can put the susp in the front
    slotted disks came
new wheels bearings in the front

    diff needs to go in
    fuel tank bolted in properly
    tailshaft to go in
    front susp to go in
    then
    burnouts haha

heres hopefully a quick video of it running
