    Default Mirko's 86 Build

    So have wanted a 86 for a long time and when l finally found one it even came with a spare car. So l promptly purchased them and once they arrived started stripping good parts of spare car and also stripping main car to start the rebuild process. Have big plans for the build so fingers crossed turns out as planned.

    Guy before me started conversion to a 4AGZE which ill finish but convert to use my S14 T28 turbo which is being rebuilt and highflowed and if l get borded ill still the GTRS of it haha

    Currently car is at advanced soda blasting in blacktown and will be completely cleaned and then onto rust repair. Rust is not that bad just in the door sills and one spot on rear drivers side window apart from that its in really good condition.








    Ready for blasting


    Putting a full list of specs together as well but this will be setup for heavy track use so alot of upgrades. Ill post once l have it all sorted.

    So have already hit up a number of the guys form the forums for parts. Also have the spare doors and hatch plus a few internal panels and drivers and passenger seats for sale as well plus a bonnet as well pm for more info.

    Bit of an update.

    Got the car back from soda blasting and all clean and all the bog removed. Now its time to fix all the panels that were a tonne of bog. Also the few and l mean only a few thankfully rust spots will be removed. Found a mobile guy who does it old school way and super cheap and good quality.

    Also Surge tank arrived from AZ Customs
    Intake and adapter to smallport from Craig @ Just JDM Imports
    Turbo manifold on its way from AJPS
    Koyo Rad and Cap arrived. Actually have one spare if anyone wants to buy it brand new

    Should have underneath stone guarded end of next week then ill start putting the suspension back together again.

    Still need a tonne of parts

    So just and update. Have been working away and ordering parts. Here is where l am at

    == Body ==
    Soda blastered & Rust repaired correctly with panel replacements
    Stone guard under car, floor pan and fire wall
    Will be 2 tonne

    == Suspension + Drive Train ==
    Hardrace rear links + Parnard Rod
    HKS Springs
    JDM Diff with 2way TRD
    APJS Front Coil overs
    ACA's
    T2 Steering knuckles
    Hardrace pillow rods
    T3 lower control arms
    Whiteline rear sway bar
    Front sway bar (Still need)
    tie rods
    camber plate hates
    Front and rear strut braces

    == Breaks ==
    Willwood Front brake kit
    r32 brake master (or maybe landcrusier one still working that out)

    == Motor ==
    16v smallport 4agze soon to be 4agte
    T28 but not GTX (My S14 old one)
    Kelway manifold
    Koyo Rad
    Stage 1 cams (Orderd)
    Cam Gears (Thinking toda ones but open to ideas?)
    Oil Cooler and relcation kit (Have cooler only so far)
    RWD TVIS intake manifold + adapter plate for small port
    AZ Custom Surge tank
    New water pump
    New ported and toda gear oil pump (Soon to order thanks sam q)
    Aftermarket ECU. Either Ems (my tuner) or complete kit from Anthony (KG)

    == other ==
    Bolt on cage (To order)
    Also got all new bolts etc for it.


    Rest of motor specs still working out with my mate who is building it. Any advice would be great


    Has anyone does this exact install or know more about it? Before you say check this blog pretty sure l have read everything and so many conflicting ideas want to speak to someone if they can be bothered. Example

    1. What to do for coil pack do l use LS1 Coil pack etc or what
    2. Whats the deal if l don't install heater can l use normal pulleys rather then ones specific for 4AGZE
    3. Do l eliminate the Dizzy?

    Personally I wouldn't bother with the Toda oil pump gears, that motor isn't going to rev close to the limit of the standard gears. ~$300 that could go elsewhere.

    Also interested in what exactly a "stage 1 cam" is...

    ah yes, just a generic grind then, pretty uncommon to see them in a 4age to be honest...your better off looking at the cam guys that do a turbo specific grind...plenty of them about

    Hi Mirko. This looks likea good build to keep an eye on.
    I was just wondering how much it cost for the soda blasting? I have a car I'd like to have done. Do they coat the car with something so the bare metal isn't left exposed?
