Just a note ... The SR makes more power and torque from factory then the RB20det.
Your SR complete without box is around the 150kg mark
Rb20 is up closer to 200.
It's not just the physical weight, but where that weight is positioned.

Don't get me wrong, not hating on you, just pointing out the facts.
It's your car, if you want and rb 20.. Go to town

Judging by ur car history, this is going to turn into an abomination and up for sale faster than your SS

If your dead set about fitting a straight 6, consider boxing the fire wall, set the motor as low as you can get it and as sensibly far back as you can, spacing the cross member after fitment may be required for better CoG.
New tunnel would need fabing, then you just need to deal with shifter position.

Of course none of this is absolutly necessary , just desired for optimal performance.
The only benifit I can see is the rb 20 has a shorter stroke:bore
So it will like to rev a little more.. Probably why is makes peak power 400rpm higher.

Ha, you could always draw a line in the sand John.
I'd be interested to know what you think... Along as it doesn't entitle general statements like , "it's shit" or rubbish like "oh my cousins cousins mate, his sister put a triple turbo RB31 in her gemmi"
    You know the drill.

If you are going to spend 20K all up to fuck up the handling balance of a corolla with a heavy straight 6 you can at least do it the decency of using a 1JZ.
