smallport distributors interchangeable

hey guys just wondering if the two 16v smallport engines, I need the square grey plug one but as no one seems to have it, im wondering if I cut the plugs off the other one if it would work?

Interchange with what? Smallport and big port? Or fwd and rwd?

there are two types of plugs I have seen on smnallport dizzys , one is grey plug(one I need ) and the other was round like bigport

Yeah plugs aside what are the internal differences? Do they all have one trigger and two home sensors with a 24 tooth wheel and a 1 tooth wheel?

If they are the same it wouldn't be hard to change the plugs to a generic weatherproof type plug and just pin it out correctly.
