Default 4age Smallport - Relocate intake butterfly to outside centre position instead of end

I notice the cut and shut option for the 4age intake manifold is widely used; however, I just want to know if anyone has relocated the butterfly module to the outside centre of the plenum chamber? My theory is the flow may improve if the butterfly is central to the intake tubes.
    Thoughts anyone?

Not really going to make a difference. The only restriction of flow into the manifold is pretty much just the throttle body itself, but its hardly a problem until the engine makes a lot of power.

The best place to put the throttle body is where its most convenient.

Due to the size of the intake tunnel if you place the throttle body where your thinking you would most likely only feed air to 2+3.

Sam: I agree, if the internal profile of the plenum chamber is symmetrical?
Geoff: I notice Ford runs a centre feed module on the six cylinder, so I don't think the flow will be compromised on a 4 cyl unless the plenum chamber is not symmetrical.

from memory i wouldnt think there would be enough room between the inlet manifold and strut tower. imo its not worth doing, i would prefer to put itb's on it instead

I like the ITB option too Johl; however its going into a Triumph Spitfire and I would have to modify the firewall to make room for the rear throttle body, not a big problem though. I have plenty of room on the outside and front of the manifold.

That's awesome. What generation spitfire? Sounds like a great platform to put a 4age into a 700kg car
