Maybe another 86 and have another crack at racing in class N1 (see my other thread)
I need a more dedicated race car though, my last one was still too much of a compromise for street use...
KP61 is also cool but still pretty rare over here. Don't worry, when I get another car there will be a more detailed build thread.

Deposit put down on an 86 levin coupe.
Basically a dedicated track car which i'll put a bit of extra work into.
Aim will be to be competitive in the N1 class. New thread to come soon...

I speak a reasonable amount but am definitely no expert. I have to work in japanese every day though.

N1 is basically set up to have a pretty level playing field and not be too expensive.

Engine: std cams and inlet manifold, including throttle body. Must be bigport. The motor i am building is getting 1mm os pistons, some lightening and balancing. Also decked block and thin HG.

Tyres: control tyre varies each year depending on sponsor. This year it is Dunlop direzza in 14 or 15 inch

Suspension: no lca change, all body mount points have to be std. Coilovers and adjustable rear arms are ok.

Brakes: std vented rotors and discs. Slotted or drilled is ok and high temppads are ok.

Body: shell panels have to be std but hood, trunk and fender change is ok. My car is fully stitch welded.

Yeah sorry, forgot about that one, stock ecu only. But most guys stuff around with the sensors by putting resistors in various places to get it to run a bit richer.
Pretty nasty way of tuning but you can get a touch more power and more importantly keep the temps down.

a well respected tuner in sa swears by diode and resistor tuning

but he is very very old school and his knowledge was learned before you could buy tunable ecus
