    Default Dylan's ke70

Alright, I'm a first year mechanic, give me a break, I don't know everything.. Yet
So I have a white ke70 with a nice shell, and a shitty spray painted red ke70 with a nice shell but with a sunroof, both have shit interior but the red one has a rebuild engine, lumpy cam, weber carby. I built it cause it had rego and was my daily driver, but the time came I wanted a rally car, and my plan of using no sunroof brought my thought of engine conversion.
So I did the conversion, straight 4k so it was pretty easy, Put in some k-max suspension in the front, and new rotors. Got some wheels off eBay and put in some brown leather seats and brown carpet. The car has a blue dash and blue doors but that's all soon to come off once I do my 4age conversion for my rally car but I just wanted to get it running for now.. I plan to put black trim on the doors and make it just the blue dash. Roll cage ect..
I did this pretty much just for the learning experience, even better that I did the whole engine, suspension and half interior swap and got it working. In a month. Just need to do some tuning and it will be my first build, well conversion..
I'm going to upload pics of my progress so far soon.. Also going to do a thread for my 4age conversion once I get the money. Might fail, but lets just wait and see.
Cheers, also I'm not too experienced so some cool ideas if what I could do to my ke would be awesome.

Age old 'I would do suspension first' post.

And rebuild the 4age while getting suspension sorted. A lot of them are closer to 30 than 20 years old, and it's better to know what you are really dealing with while limiter bashing past commodores. Also provides a hands on learning experience.

Sounds like a good plan, is there many guides on rebuilding a 4age? I'm only a 1st year, not too confident to just get stuck straight into it, although I really wanna build the engine myself so I know it well.

You're a first year, I'm sure the dudes at your work will help you after hours.
    Unless they are ####s.

I hope so!! I don't start tech till July though, I was employed too late to start at the start of the year :/, also, got my license back today and my car runs fine in neutral, backfires a if I give it too much, but as soon as I put a load on it it backfires like crazy and stutters and it feels fuuuuuged. Any ideas? It blows a bit of smoke too when I rev it. Blown head gasket?
