    Default Ae111 4age Blacktop 20v Rev Limit

For a while now there has been a debate as to actually what the rev limit on a 4age blacktop 20v stock ecu is and some people swear around 8k and other 8400rpm

    The answer is actually both.

You can see in this video the rev limit is around 8400 RPM

The reason is simple, it is the same car, a few months apart.

The first video runs the 6spd Ae111 Blacktop ECU and the second one is running the 5spd Ae111 Blacktop Ecu. The wiring loom is identical and the engine is the same.

    stunning knowledge^^^

is there a technical reason why the 5 speed ecu has a lower rev limit compared to the 6 speed?

Yea mine revs out to 8400rpm
With an ae111 ecu I said this and SamQ pretty much called me a liar.
    Great to see the proof!

For those who are wondering at 5 seconds vvt engages and advances the timing. All 20vs regardless if black or silvertop should do this.

    The induction noise is wicked.

See, mine is a 6 speed, and only revs to 8k. On a cold day it's 8200k. Cold being 25 degrees at night.
