Went to toyota Winterfest over the weekend at the Caribbean gardens.
Seen most of the cars before, but it's always good for reference and to get some inspiration to keep going.
Picked up a TRD headgasket as well as some interior bits to finish my car off.

Also started fitting the bits to my front bar.
Drilled an extra hole so I can run ae82 indicators, as they're a lot more common.
However I think the ones I have are aftermarket and are slightly bigger, so don't quite fit.
Might have to grind them down a little.

I FINALLY CAUGHT A BREAK WITH THIS ENGINE!

    Lucky block number 3.

    Block no.1 - bored 1mm, still corroded
Block no.2 - already been bored (didn't pay for this one)
Block no.3 - bored 1mm, came up perfect!

Ordered head studs for it. Went Toyota OEM as it won't be boosted and I have heard mixed reviews on ARP ones in the 4AGE. Builder is ordering pistons, rings, etc.

Was also chatting to dad about a fuel pump for the setup on the car and he goes "Hmm, think I bought one to use as a priming pump for the carb on the Trans Am that I never used"

Turns out it's a Facet 4-7psi pump brand new in box - exactly what I'd planned on buying.

Finally seeing some end to this bloody headache.

Glad to hear you're having some luck with this, going to be such an awesome car when it's finished.

Went to the engine builder today to lighten the wallet a bit.

Here's a pic of my block with initial bore - he's waiting on pistons before fully boring it to make sure they all fit perfectly.

Whilst there, I spotted a Scorcher Distributor in a box, apparently he deals with them all the time - which means I can source it through him for my carb setup. It also means that when he quotes compression rations and stuff to them for the initial timing and advance, it'll be spot on!

Much the same as u have done. Going to get it sand blasted in the next couple weeks. Then I will have some rust repairs to do, I have a couple wrecks at my disposal so I can get cuts from them, none of this making ur own panels and bog them to shape stuff. Will be stealing the rear guard repair idea thats for sure, and possibly the charcoal canister idea too. Great to see someone else wants to return these cars to there former glory or better.

haha, always plenty of stuff to do! Guards worked out really well - and I stole the charcoal canister idea anyway

Unexpectedly, I bought some extractors the other night. Came up for sale and couldn't pass it up.
4-2-1 stainless, unknown brand but have Jasma plates on them and look to be really well made.
(edit: a small amount of web searching leads me to believe they may be early HKS super header type 2, can someone confirm?)
Picked them up for $150 - stoked!

Gave them a steel wool and then hit them with some Autosol, and they polished up a little.
If I spend a bit more time on them I think they'll come up really nicely.

Also got my windscreen fitted this afternoon - it makes such a difference to the look of the car having it fitted in.

After a bit more elbow grease today, used a combo of steel wool and autosol.
Not perfect, and will discolour again, but a bit of shine to the engine bay is always welcome.
