Here’s a video from a while back. My diff was super clunky (and can be heard in the video)
ive since changed to 80w-140 from 75w-90 and it’s eliminated 90% of the noise.

Have put a few thousand kms on it now, sounds like potentially the input shaft bearing is on its way out but need to confirm it.

    Just been driving and enjoying.
When I put the Watanabe's on it, I went with a 225/50 in the rear for a legal looking fitment.
It looks like a 4x4 even though I lowered it a little to close up the wheel gap, but don't feel like I'm looking over my shoulder all the time like i did on the 14x8.5 with stretch.

    Just driving and enjoying now.

A couple months ago I finally got to take it on track.
What a blast! It went well - some oil blow-by which meant I replaced the vent hose with a longer one that raises up first. It seems to have solved the problem.

Have you had the box looked at to confirm what is in it?

Yeah, it was really good. It was with nugget nationals. I found it's a tight and technical track that brings out the chassis/suspension/driver downfalls than any in power. It was great fun.

Nah I haven't - I figure I'm just going to wait until something goes wrong. I have a couple spare ones that are meant to be good - I feel I haven't really noticed it now driving it more often, just a quirk of the car haha

Now that forums are back online, it?s time to close this thread with a little bit of emotion.

2020 was a weird year for me. I did a bit of soul searching, tried a career change that sucked, bought a house, hated working from home and sold the AE86.

I sold the car around mid June. I met my hero, enjoyed it, learned a lot, but it was time for me to have new experiences and move on. To keep the car was to deny myself new experiences. I didn?t want to continue in life wondering what else is out there and what other cars COULD be.

If I was to do it all again, I would probably do it closer to a very original car, with an original 4age in it.

When I changed jobs, I lost a company car and needed a daily driver I?d also be happy to put a kid in. The AE86 wasn?t going to cut it as now my only car.

I replaced it with a 2015 Toyota 86 GTS. It?s fantastic. I?ve put 8k kms on it since around October. I?ve mildly modified it with TRD springs, some Forza FP3 brake pads, wheels and Michelin PS4.

I might come to regret selling the AE86 in the future. But looking at it with the eye that I sold it to experience more in life prevents that kind regret.

I?ll still keep lurking, I made a lot of friends through ownership and am in touch with the new owner as well.
