    Cheers fellas!

Look out Mirko, once mines painted it'll be not much more than clip it all back together
(well, a little more involved than that!)

Inside the bonnet and hatch painted body colour, so I can bolt them on the car and paint the car as a whole.
It will be faster, and the paint peel and finish will then be even across the whole car.

    Started rubbing today! 400 grit.
Got the roof, rear quarters, and around the hatch opening done. As well as half of one door.

    up to the 800 rub.

two pieces of engine news and some questions...
Sorted out my cam problem (few pages back, only got sent one HKS 264 cam instead of a pair)
On recommendation of James and my mechanic, i headed to Clive cams. He ran my HKS one through his machine to confirm lift and profile, and is making me one up to match it for $270. Pretty happy about that.

    Secondly...

cracked open that ol' 4AGE of mine I've had for a bit. The one I bought of some dodgy bloke.
Not a happy camper... Requires pretty well a FULL rebuild.

    two options here:
    1. Bin it, look at sourcing another engine that is in good condition and a runner. Chances are slim - and the one i source may still need just a deck and hone. Whereas mine needs pretty well everything.

    2. Bite the bullet, spend the money getting it in tip top shape, then knowing exactly what I've got, how it runs and where I'm at.

I'm leaning towards option 2 here. I already have a block and head in the configuration I want (smallport 7-rib) and I'm not intended to sell the car any time soon. So for me in the long run it's probably better off.

    Thoughts fellas?

Do it once, do it right. Second option if you are going to have the car for a while.

out of curiosity, did you compression test it? What exactly are the problems? How long was it sitting for before you bought it?
