Just uploaded some more pics into that to show exactly how they were done - didn't fold them back over.

I wanted to keep the original lines/look of the car.

The other was cut off, and the inner guard was split and pulled out, with a strip welded in.
Then the front ke70 guard was slipped under to create the outer that was cut off. If that makes sense? I'll have to find a picture of the inner guard somewhere.

I'll let the pictures do the talking!
1st is the skim of bog over the fibre-fill.
Then primed! most of the car is in undercoat now. Getting closer to paint!

Cheers man! Really happy with the results. In an ideal world, there wouldn't be any bog or filler in them.
But then I figure... what ae86 hasn't got rust or repairs in the rear guards? Lol

It's the best! Haha. One semester left at uni until I'm graduated. Better get printing!

Uni holidays! Prepare for the updates to roll on in!

Bars were pretty well rooted! So all sanded, and primed now.
They'll be sanded smooth and painted in satin black bumper texture, with white tops (like panda) i just prefer that look over all black.

Never noticed it, but the bars have masking lines for panda paint. They're kinda in an odd place, but I may as well do it how it should be done if i'm going to

The levin is probably a good sign of some inspiration for my front end and colour scheme.

My ae86 as it sits today. All underbody, chassis, suspension and brakes finished and painted. And all rust and body repairs are done. Engine bay and interior painted. All components are there, ready to piece it together and finish it! Most of the hard work has been done.

Going in to the oven for a full re-prime tomorrow I hope, painted as if it's a final top coat, as all parts were painted individually, it isn't a consistent undercoat.
It's been blocked with 120 to find any dints and stuff, but that will also mean that I can now apply primer with a bit more thinners, and the 400 then 800 rub will be ultra easy and quick.

Hoping to have it painted by the end of next week or the start of the following

It might be just a primer-grey shell, but it's satisfying to see all the hard work starting to show.
