How well does the car run using the stock ecu? Most people who ive spoken to said that they normally run pretty average when just using the stock one, or does the s-afc fix this?

Looks hot man. Looking forward to seeing you on the track this year!

And Sortiros thats exactly it the s-afc tricks the engine into thinking that everything is normal.

yea like beau said all it does is converts various signals and gives the ecu more or less of that signal, so then the ecu adjust accordingly, look man my car runs ok, i wouldnt say its freaken awsome but if your on a budget its a good option i think. i just need to tweek a few settings to get it right, but other then that it runs pretty well i think, mind u u cant go any bigger than 264' cams with a stock ecu.

Sweet. I was looking into getting silver top quads and 264 cams, but really didn't want to have to then get an aftermarket ecu (cause I'm a cheap bastard). I would probably go aftermarket down the track, but this would just make it easier in the short run.

Does the car still idle fine using this method? Was it diffiult at all to set up properly? Cheers

the advantage i had was it was all set up in japan... i can get all the setting out of the SAFC for u.. ive gone through it all and it looks pretty simple to use.. the car idle's fine with the cams its a bit lumpy but thats about it.. starts 1st time every time.. once its at normal opporating temp its sweet but what car does idle well thats got cams and quads etc... let me know if u want the settings, if i had some cash i would go full aftermarket... mayb u can just buy mine setup

    looks heaps tidy!

yeah i reckon ill be doing the same as you using the stock ecu and a fuel piggy back computer as my car came with a Fields AFC basically idential to a SAFC.

no issues with cold starts or anything with the quads?
