    Default Nighttime tafe 2014

    Hey Guys,

Just thought I'd throw it out there as I've been going to Tafe for the past year of a Monday and Wednesday night at Padstow, I'd ask if anyone is interested in joining up.

Its standard Tafe fees ~$400 for each 1/2 yearly semester, and whilst I think most nights are slow over the past 12 months i've learnt a fair bit from it.

It is a recognised accelerated trade certificate that I'm enrolled in, and it has been loads of fun.

Padstow is pretty central, and is basically at the end of River Rd off the M5.

    Cheers
    Matt

Matt I think you'll find that at the end of it you won't be a qualified mechanic as you will have no trade experience to go with the studies, you will obtain AP(academic passes) and not PA's(Pass achieved, academic studies with workplace evidence) BUT still good. Over the years I have studied the Cert 3 in Fitting and turning which was absolutely fantastic.

Here in South Oz, I teach night time dyno tuning courses and turbocharger repair and overhaul, we also do a number of marine and motorcycle night time courses, they usually have large attendances.

Next year we move in to new facitilies with a new dedicated dyno centre, I can't wait it's going to be awesome, without a doubt probably best dyno set up in the country, it will have a new 4wd dyno built to do trucks/cars/motor bikes, our existing engine dyno, a new engine dyno and dedicated class rooms to suit.

Whilst you won't get a Trade Certificate out of it without industry experience, it is enough to obtain a provisional license here in NSW.

With the way the tafe systems are going with funding etc, I figured it is worth putting it out there to see who is interested. The way i saw it was, if i learn a couple of things which will let me do the job myself then it has paid for itself.

Yeah not knocking you Matt, I think it's a good idea, especially if they still overhaul/rebuild diffs/autos/manuals etc like we do here.

Don't get me started on Tafe cuts!
