Number 1 goes with number 3.
Number 1 is heater tap, number 3 is where the heater lines go into/out of the heater core
Number 2 is just a charcoal canister, which is often removed
Hey guys,
So when I bought my sprinter it came with a random bucket of parts, some of which I knew what they were and some I have no idea. There are two in particular that I wanted to post up here and see if someone could help me out with identifying what they and where they go?
Also, there are two hoses are the back of the engine bay that have been cut off, with nothing else attached to them. They look like this:
Anyone know what should be there?
Cheers,
Mark

Awesome thanks man! Where abouts is the actual tap mechanism supposed to attach to?
And where does the charcoal canister normally connect up? Just want to check its been blocked off properly.
7oxin - you know Buckley who owned this previously didn't you??
The two bolts in the heater tap will line up with 2 holes on the firewall.
Just look at random AE86 engine bay photos. Save a few and look at them often, till you memorize every part.
You need pictures and diagrams.
see those two bolts on the heater tap assembly.....they bolt to the fire wall to the left of those two hoses that are cut.
its close to where the clutch master cylinder is mounted
that carbon canister was for the orignal 4ac engine i suspect. it doesnt even play a part in your 4age conversion (it should, but is very rarely connected)
Ok cool, thanks heaps guys!
If someone does have a pic of the heater tap assembly on a standard 4AGE i'd really appreciate seeing it. Most engine shots don't tend to focus on the firewall....
green dot, your cut hoses
blue dot, the mounting spot for heater tap, there is two holes under the vin number
yellow dot, where charcoal canister should be.
i'll just go take a pic...
Ta-da!
I used heater hoses to suit a mid 90s magna and an xe falcon that are pretty close to fitting.
Oh dude thats fantastic! Thanks so much!
