Default 14 tyres - which have rim-protecting sides and which don't?

    Hey guys!

Been looking at tyre options for a set of 14x8 +0 and 14x8.5 -7 SSR MK3

I've reduced it down to this list in what's available to get.
Generally, everyone tends to run RE001 - and even though they're still currently listed in catalogs/brochures - shops are reluctant to put in any searching effort for them

I was just wondering, which of these tyres have a decent rim protecting sidewall similar to the RE001? I'm not too fussed on awesome performance, as I will be running 15s for the tyre choice when I need to. Or a tyre that hides massive dishes out the sides of the guards. I find running stretched tyres isn't too bad/coppers don't take much notice if it's tyre instead on rim poking.

I got defected just the other day for 5mm tyre poke, granted it was highway patrol and not the average police that didn't seem to have an issue.
Currently it seems you can only get away with poke if you have a 4wd.

Sorry to sidetrack, good idea for a thread

ID:	31826He means tyres with lips on the sidewalls like these, they help protect the lip of the wheel if you scrape a gutter/traffic island etc.

Ohh, I haven't ever paid any attention to this lol, strached tyres don't seem to give this effect haha

If the tyres have the protectors they look like a lot less stretch for the same sizes up to a point as well, like 195 on an 8 or 8.5 for example. Good for dailies, but wouldn't even notice it on your car lol.

Yeah, means it's not as obvious you're running a 185/60 on an 8.5j wheel. Just trying to limit the chances of getting a defect.

And that sucks dovegrey. My tyres poke maybe 3mm on the front of my daily. It's barely anything!

    Here's an example:
    Sato's car -
    14×8-inch -12 (front), 14×8.5-inch -19 (rear), Dunlop DZ101 185/55R14
Those tyres fit the lips exactly how i'm talking about.

That's what I'm looking for - what other tyre options will fit like that?
