Default Cheap/free stuff to do in Gold Coast

    Hey guys,

The Mrs' parents shifted to the Gold Coast a few years back, and every time we go and visit them (for a week plus at a time) I end up going stir crazy. Problem is that I'm a student and really never have any cash to spend on doing stuff. We usually get to use their car, so we're pretty mobile.

Activities don't have to be car related. Happy to get recommendations on good walks etc to do too.

    Cheers!

    Hey bud.

There is plenty to do on the gold coast if your a visitor.
    Things I would recommend,
Walk/climb mt warning ( about a 45 min drive from the gold coast over the NSW border ) a long climb but worth it if you catch the sun rise/set.
Springbrook glow worm caves, also the drive out there is fun.
Queensland raceway always has events on if you check there website for whats on. Entry is usually $10 to $25 depending on event.
nerang go karting, a bit pricey but super fun and they let you drift. The whole track is slippery and you can link the whole track with the rite line.
is good for finding things to do.

I was born and raised here and have seen, been or done most things worthy of doing so feel free to ask if something is worth doing.
    enjoy your stay.

Oh and dont forget mt tamborine, my partner and I love going there. Good food, there is thunderbird park, the sky walk, plenty of lookout points for pictures and if you do go dont leave without going to all the fudge/chocolate shops on gallary walk there stuff is so tastey.

Thanks for the tips mate! Mt Warning sounds great, we've been to Springbrook before but had no idea there were glow worms! We'll have to go check it out again.

I'll be having a look at the rest of that stuff too. Cheers!

    No worries at all.
The glow worm are only seen at night, google natural arch for directions, pretty well signed with directions.

There is also plenty of good fishing, mainly around the broadwater, jumpinpin, coomera river.
if yous want a swim (bit cold lately) check out currumbin creek and tallabudgera creek. Both are amazing on a nice hot day and currumbin you can hire stand up paddle boards and have a paddle around on a sat/sunday. Tally is good for fishing a few flat head on the rite time/tide.

If we're going out to springbrook again, is that treetop walkway worth the extra hike? Looks lush, Aussie has such awesome birds (and the flying animals).

Tbh I have never done it, didn't even know it existed untill I just looked it up. Looks alright though.

haha yea, I was sitting in my car the other day about to leave and a damn peacock walks straight in front of my car just strolling down the street.
